Gift cards remain one of the most successful products in retail. As programmes continue to grow, protecting card details while cards are on display has become increasingly important.
Tampering typically occurs when criminals attempt to access card numbers or PINs before purchase. PaperBurstTech addresses this challenge with two key features: a tear-off activation panel, removed by the cashier at the point of sale to access the card’s barcode for activation, and a carrier design that causes visible damage to the paper layer if opened prematurely.
Together, these features allow retail staff to quickly identify signs of tampering and prevent compromised cards from being sold.

Sealed with Certainty
PaperBurstTech carriers are sealed using specialised water-based adhesives to create a secure bond around the card. When opened, the seal causes the fibres of the paper to burst, preventing access without leaving clear signs of damage to the carrier.
To ensure consistent performance, every Paperburst Tech carrier is monitored using our SecureAssure® camera system, which verifies glue application during production and confirms that each seal is applied with precision and accuracy.
